can be an author, too. Think about it this way: any first grader who
has a thought, constructs a sentence, and writes it down is an author.
We do have a problem in this country, however, in that so many of our
children don't progress beyond the first-grade writing level."

School presentations
include visual examples of the author’s work, interactive audience
participation, PowerPoint , or other media modes. Questions from students
and staff, will be answered after the presentation. Curriculum suggestions
or activities pertaining to the work of the authorial be left for the
staff. A parent workshop is offered after school or in the evening.

public library

Arrangements
• Contact Authors Talk Too by e-mail or
phone
• When scheduling, have 3 possible dates for presenter
• Arrangement for group size, number of presentations, and equipment,
may vary for each author or illustrator
• Equipment, if needed, may be provided by the school
• Schools will be given a brief evaluation form which may be filled out
by the school's contact person
