Authors Talk Too ~ Listening
for Literacy Fall
Newsletter - 2007
Dear Friends,
We have good business news. Thanks to the diligent work of our
attorney, Authors Talk Too has received federal tax exempt
status. This means all donations to our non-profit organization are
tax-deductible. Guidestar, an on-line non-profit service, will
monitor information regarding Authors Talk Too.
Authors Talk Too is continuing to offer services to
Boston area schools at no cost. We have are pleased to have many requests
for services for the 2007-2008 school year. It is truly a privilege
working with the students and dedicated staff of Boston Public Schools.
Meeting an author or illustrator demonstrates to students, that they
can also become capable writers and artists. Nationally acclaimed,
award-winning authors and illustrators are on-board to inspire students
in all disciplines.
Authors showing the writing and illustrating process in conjunction
with the subject of their work makes for an entertaining and informative
lesson that will be considered for years to come. The message that
students can write or draw as a way of expression is an important one
when they are faced with making good choices.
Until now, Authors Talk Too’s major funding has come
from philanthropist, Frank Ward. Mr. Ward’s dedication to education
can be seen in schools from Boston to Cape Cod.
At this time it is our priority to
secure funding from businesses, philanthropy and foundation grants.
With funding in place we can send any of the following outstanding
authors and illustrators to Boston area schools. Until now this type
of enrichment program was only attainable to schools with financial
means.
